EKOS is promoting development projects to demonstrate the application of a 500Hp class DC micro-grid system
for vessels for 46months from December 2014 to September 2018.
The development system is planned to be supplied to the island area for the independent power supply construction.
In addition, EKOS is also continuing research and development for the application of DC distribution system.
DC Distribution Products’ Features
The transmission / distribution network of the world uses the AC transmission method, which has advantages such as easy transmission of long distance transmission and power conversion, but has disadvantages which is high power loss. Recently, on the other hand, DC transmission method has been attracting attention as a new power supply method because of the emergence of renewable energy and ESS(Energy Storage System). DC distribution is low in power loss, efficient in several aspects such as system stability and power quality improvement.
